Holidays and a Surprise

I'M FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

o_o

Oh. Sorry about that. I didn't realize you'd still be here. No, really. I thought you guys left considering I hadn't posted since the beginning of December. Well, I'm glad you're still here because do I have a lot to tell you.

Let's start with Christmas, shall we? How was that holiday for everyone? Good? Not so good? Fantastic. How was mine? Believe it or not is was normal.....no, really. No zombies. No monsters. Nothing. Well, okay maybe I did have one thing out of the ordinary happen.

He showed up.

Y'all remember Conner, right? Freak that has been appearing and disappearing at will. Guy who decided reuniting with my sister would be a "good thing." Yeah, he showed up two days before Christmas. Apparently, Lee had invited him to spend Christmas with us and started calling him her boyfriend. Her boyfriend.

According to Lee, they had been "dating" for "almost a year." Mom and Dad were thrilled to meet him and were over joyed to hear he'd been spending Christmas with us. It was Christmas Eve that Conner set me straight and not in the way you think.

"Annalee and I really have been dating. I was surprised she didn't tell you when you two reconnected," he said.
We were out on the back porch enjoying the rare chill in the air and he decided to come clean. And of everything I could think of, this one little thing was not something I thought he'd finally admit. I mean come on. If anything the guy should have told me something about my "little problem!"

"Did you honestly think that just because we met up and moved on from our problem that we would instantly become best friends? Honestly Conner, you have no idea how long it would take to repair the damage of what's happened between us," I said. Conner seemed to consider this a moment, as if he knew exactly what the problem was.

He stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets and focused on the backyard, "Well, then I guess I'll tell you the whole thing. We've been dating two years, not just one. Annalee didn't want your parents flipping out when she told them so she took off a year to...keep the flipping to a minimum," he confessed. That didn't make me feel any better.

This whole time Annalee had been in contact with Conner and probably had some idea of what he knew about me, but had kept it all to herself. What else was she keeping from me? Heck, could I even trust her with comments about y problem anymore or would they find their way back to Conner, who I have shown utter dislike for since the day I met him. My world is crumbling. Too many things are colliding.

But it gets worse.....

Fast Forward to New Year's Eve.

..........................he proposed at midnight.
